La mwbwlobectomia è una mwcaprocedura chirurgica che consiste nell'asportazione del mwcqlobo di un mwcgorgano. Gli organi sottoposti a lobectomia sono i mwcwpolmoni, il mwdafegato, la mwdqtiroide e il mwdgcervello.

La lobectomia viene più comunemente impiegata nel trattamento delle mweaneoplasie polmonari localizzate.cite-ref-1[1] La mwfqlobectomia videoassistita è mininvasiva, comporta meno dolore post chirurgico e un recupero più rapido del paziente.

La rimozione parziale o completa di un lobo del cervello viene eseguita per curare gravi forme di mwfwepilessia refrattaria ai farmaci. L'intervento può essere bilaterale e riguardare entrambi gli mwgaemisferi, oppure può riguardare solamente la rimozione parziale o completa del mwgqlobo temporale (lobectomia temporale anteriore). Il metodo può essere usato anche in casi estremi per ridurre la mwgwpressione intracranica (lobectomia decompressiva).cite-ref-2[2]
